"Acupuncture for low back pain is cost-effective and works". BBC News, September 06
Back pain is one of the main reasons patients visit an acupuncturist, this must be due to the relief it offers. Treatment may include acupuncture alone or for more stubborn pain a combination of acupuncture and EFT, where dramatic results can be achieved.
Medically, the cause of back pain is not cut and dried, most people have some irregularity in their spine, but not all those people get backache. It is often true that stress, dissatisfaction at work, distress or depression can re-enforce relatively minor pain.
In almost all cases acupuncture will achieve a noticeable difference to the pain, whether there is complete cessation of pain often depends how easily the patient can change their lifestyle or the behaviours which caused the pain in the first place.
